Why PRCP?

Our goal is to glorify God by honoring His creation – human life created in His image. Each person who serves at the PRCP has made a commitment to uphold the Sanctity of Human Life and to share the love of Christ.  Whether that person is on staff, a board member, or one of our volunteers, our purpose is the same.  We are the hands and feet of Jesus and are committed to ministering to our clients with both compassion and respect.

Prayer is an integral part of our ministry.  Our volunteers, staff, and supporters consistently pray for the needs of our center, our clients, and for one another. God is faithful and continues to answer our prayers.  We thank Him for every life saved and every need met, and are confident that He will continue to provide as we step out in faith to save babies and souls for Jesus Christ.

Our supporters are part of God’s plan at the PRCP.  Each person who gives is impacting generations and making an eternal difference for LIFE.  We honor you and thank you!

The Problem

Each day in the United States more than 2,600 women choose abortion. In Pennsylvania alone, 31,018 women had abortions in 2019*. This has resulted in a loss of over 60 million babies since abortion was legalized in 1973.

Approximately one in four women will have an abortion in her lifetime, with nearly half of these women experiencing two or more abortions*. In addition to the potential physical risks, many women who experience abortion suffer from post-abortion syndrome with symptoms that include guilt, depression, anxiety, anger, fear and rejection.  This can lead to drug/alcohol abuse, severed relationships, bonding issues, self-hatred, and in some cases, suicide.

Research indicates men may experience post-abortion syndrome, which can affect their manhood, relationships, and can cause repressed emotions including anger, guilt, and depression.

Abortion has taken its toll on our nation, on women, on men and on families. When we go outside of God’s plan for sexuality, consequences include unintended pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections, emotional and relational strain, and spiritual disconnection.

The Solution

Serving the in the Pocono Mountains, Pregnancy Resource Center of the Poconos is one of over 2,300 pregnancy centers across the nation that is there to help.  Most women who choose abortion do so because they feel trapped, scared, or fear facing someone or something.  By offering compassion, practical help, education, and support, our clients feel more empowered to make life-affirming decisions that give them hope and confidence to overcome obstacles in their path.

At PRCP we understand that each woman has the right to choose.  Our goal is to educate her on her options, show her an ultrasound to confirm viability and dating of pregnancy, give her support and practical help throughout her pregnancy to facilitate a positive, healthy outcome.  No matter what her choice, we are there for her – and for her partner.  We believe her ultimate need is to come to know the God who loves her and share the love of Christ with no strings attached – just love, acceptance, mercy and grace.

Our services are free and confidential to women from all walks of life, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, or income status. To learn more about our services click here.
